During the working day we try to jot down here some of the changes to the shop and website as they occur.
With the sun brightening the sky today, Lord Street is buzzing with strollers and, more to our commercial tastes, shoppers. Trade in all section, books and 'curios' is very brisk today.
'Have just changed a fluorescent tube so the transport and sport corner is no linger dark and drear. As I speak, two train books have just been sold -- to a Facebook page-liker who got his standard 10% off.
Yesterday, Sunday, was spent very enjoyably in exploring parts of West Yorkshire in the hunt for interesting stock. Apart from some small antique items bought in Halifax, we had little luck. Though we took our own tasty sandwiches to eat in the car overlooking the moors, the last snack was in a lovely cafe in Skipton. Of books at re-sale prices, we found none.
This morning, Monday, shop trade has been quite brisk upto midday, with good sales of CDs and small, duodecimo antiquarian items of a curious rather than expensive kind. A fair few small rock specimens have been bought alongside the books. Time, we think for hot chocolate from Cafe Nero next door.
What delights will this afternoon bring ?
We hope you are tempted to explore a few more pages.
